The 194th meeting of the Coordinating Committee for Earthquake Prediction (CCEP) was held at the Kanto Regional Survey Department of the GSI on February 17, 2012. At first, Observation data and research results about seismic activities and crustal deformations in Japan were reported and discussed. Moreover, "Coupling and slip on the plate boundary;Around the Chishima trench." as intensive discussion subject were discussed. Finally, purport of next intensive discussion subject "Coupling and slip on the plate boundary;Around the Sagami trough and right under the metropolitan area ." was explained.
