Abstract of the 176th meeting of CCEP

 The 176th meeting of the Coordinating Committee for Earthquake Prediction (CCEP) was held at the Kanto Regional Survey Department of the GSI on Feb 18,2008. "Working group of steering CCEP" was reported in the beginning. Afterwards, the report of the observation and the fruit of research such as the diastrophism of the seismic activities of the whole country was done, and discussed. As special topic, "Detection of initial phase of earthquake and its predictability" was reported and discussed. Main topics of discussions are listed below.
